    🤠Cowboy Christmas Lore: A Festive Flashback…

Did you know cowboys celebrated Christmas on the trail with whatever they could rustle up? They’d string popcorn on the nearest sagebrush, sing carols by the campfire, and whip up flapjacks as Christmas “cake.” Gifts? A new pair of boots or a hand-carved trinket was worth more than gold to those rugged ranch hands.

So, whether you’re kicking up your heels at a holiday hoedown or sipping cider in front of the fire, remember, Christmas is all about simple joys, just like it was for those dusty trail riders.

I hope you all enjoyed this update. Remember, kick off your boots, grab a Whiskey, and settle in for some romance!”

That’s all for now, partner! Don’t forget to check out the giveaways, claim your medallion, and swing by the Red Kettle for some holiday cheer. Keep your spurs jingling as we ride into the season of giving.

    Happy Trails and Merry Christmas,

And remember… “Stay prickly my friends…”

  • Prickle Forrest Chronicles – May 2023 Wow! Almost half way there…

    PRICKLE FORREST CHRONICLES

    May 2023

    Dear Pricklers,

Wow! Half-way point for 2023 is almost here. So, what are you doing for Memorial Day? Here? Probably will go to the Memorial Day parade. Not sure , though. Maybe if the resident Eagle Scout will be marching in it as he’s done in the past. Well actually not maybe, more like definitely. After all who doesn’t love a parade?

The resident Eagle Scout is helping out with the troop, so, hoping he does. If he does, will go and watch for sure. Other than that, would like to grill out on the deck and write. And speaking of writing, here’s a little bit to catch you up…

    The Past …

Well, had both books from the Whiskey Salvation Series on Kindle Unlimited for the last 90 days. Both did well. But on the 17th of May, Kindle Unlimited will come to an end for the Whiskey Salvation Series. Going wide!

In fact, Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation has already gone wide. Look below for the links to find it. And definitely feel free to share that information. Will however probably reshelve the books on to Kindle Unlimited when the third book of the series comes out. Thinking about bundling the three up for the holidays, but only if number 3 gets published before or after Turkey Day. Keep the fingers crossed, please. Tried it, butt too hard to type that way, so will need some help and yours is the best. Thanks!

Launched a book tour with Silver Dagger Tours. Maia Gomez is fantastic. In fact, it’s still going strong. Want to follow it? Check it out at her website. There is a giveaway. A $30 Amazon card and 4 aluminum Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation book marks, which they are a personal favorite. Actually could have given 5 away, but needed to keep one, after all it’s the first book in the series.

Catch up to the tour at these blogs:

    C.A.Milson
    Literary Gold

Also met two really sweet bloggers who are going to do a review of Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation and Cherishing Whiskey’s Salvation .

Heather and Kim asked for hard copies. So one of our mottos is “We aim to please” , Therefore,, autographed two and sent them. Added a little flare to them too. Not sure if you can see it in the picture below, but Kim definitely points it out.

And Kim graciously made a TikTok unwrapping video upon receiving the books. Check it out, it’s wonderful!

And as for that little survey that made it into the April newsletter… about who might like Cherishing Whiskey Salvation best… You know, who would like it better… the guys vs the gals… looks like from the response it’s neck and neck. Reminds one of the Kentucky Derby. Right? Maybe your favorite author you just happen to be reading about right now. Huh? Hint! Hint!

Speaking of the Derby…did you watch the best 2 minutes in sports this past May 6th?

Never would have thought Mage would win. Did you? In fact, picked Cyclone Mischief to win with Two Phil’s to place, and Confidence Game to show.

Well, at least got 1 out of the 3 correct. Wonder what Angel of Empire won? And best of all, placed third in the hat contest at the Galaxy’s Kentucky Derby party. Woohoo! Woohoo!

Next year going to attend the same party, but will wear a different hat. Send some suggestions to decorate the same style of hat, but different colors, dark brown and black. Love those colors. Actually, the prettiest horses are ones with those colors. Right? If you have any suggestions, thoughts, or ideas send them to me. Love hearing from you. And don’t forget to mention who you picked to win the Derby. Do you think Mage is a Triple Crown contender?

    The Present …

Just curious… do you have an alter ego? It’s looking more and more like there’s one here. Or is it a split personality? Haven’t figured that out yet. In the meantime, one of the alters’ is getting things accomplished. And it’s all good. Woohoo!

For one thing… The reader magnet is finished. It’s being edited right now. Hoping to have it out June 1st. Don’t worry, they’ll be a link for those of you who would like to read it. Made it especially for any newcomers. But won’t dare leave any of you out.

In the meantime, working on the presentation on Book Funnel and BookBub. Also, at the moment, the website https://chrissyhartmann.com is getting a makeover. Nothing outrageous, but a few additions added to the merch on the Extras page

    https://chrissyhartmann.com/extras

and a few new pics on My Darlings page

    https://chrissyhartmann.com/my darlings

Changing up the bio and adding the book cover for book three. SO, if you want a peek at it check it out at https://chrissyhartmann.com

And for those of you who are new, last month, put out a cry for help. Well not really, but it does make it more desperate sounding, right? So, you’ll look, right?

Anyway, need a name for Josiah’s plane. Right now, its name is “Silver”

Admittedly, the plane is silver and black. Yes, the magnet is part of a western romance series, but This Silver is nothing like the Lone Rangers… well sort of. However, the editor doesn’t like the name. Need another name. Have been told it’s a little corny. So, taking suggestions for a new name. If you have something good, please send it in.

    Submit it here https://chrissyhartmann.com/contact

And just in case you need details, it’s a little 4-seater Cessna 172 plane that is silver and black. And yes, the plane is a big part of this story. If you read both books from the Whiskey Salvation Series, you’ll know why. And, the idea is being tossed around about writing a full-length novel and not just this magnet. IF you have no clue as to what’s being talked about, well, then maybe there’s a few of you who need to read the books, huh?

And if you have, leave a review using the following links. Authors love reviews good or bad. Helps make the writing better. Thanks! Leave a review at

    Cherishing Whiskey’s Salvation

    https://amazon.com/review/create-review?asin=B0BTBLC6T5

There are two other stories on standby after the third book is finished. But they may stray off the western path. Maybe. But thinking about it now, might not have to. Woohoo!

What do you think of cowboys and Vikings and the fae? And how about a new name for Josiah’s plane?

Please, please, send me your comments and/or thoughts.

    https://chrissyhartmann.com/contact

    The Future …

Excitement is brewing here at the Prickle Forrest. There’s a new little grove forming off the main Forrest. It does have something to do with writing. Everyone will benefit from it. And, no it is not a papermill either. Sheesh!

Readers and Authors will hopefully love it. Only a few things left to get it launched. But don’t worry, the novel writing will continue here. Not giving that up. No way, no how! Promise!

Had planned on attending the Columbus Book Festival July 15th and 16th, but with the new little grove thing happening and the need to get book 3 done, won’t have time to spend 2 days at it. Hopefully next year, though. Do plan to venture down with a group of writer friends to support those who are attending. Crazy, huh?

Plus, putting together a book of short stories. And yes, there will be 1 if not 2 award-winning short stories in the book. Only going to put this out in digital format. More news to come later…

Hey, what’s the rumor about the format of the Kindle books changing? What’s the deal with that? And those books already purchased in Mobi format, will they still work on the Kindle?

Got any answers, shoot them over to https://chrissyhartmann.com/contact

They better continue to work on the kindles! There’s a ton of books on this kindle. Haven’t even made a dent in the library. But currently reading

Peter Gibbons Viking Blood and Blade. Hope to have a book review for it out next month. And that’ folks is a hint on what’s coming from the Prickle Forrest. Stay tuned…

And not to forget Prickle Forrest Chronicles new subscribers… “Welcome and thank you for joining!

    Stay prickly, my friends!

  • Prickle Forrest Chronickles Special Edition – Author Interview with Hailey Dickert

    PRICKLE FORREST CHRONICLES

    SPECIAL Edition

    Author Interview

Welcome to the Prickle Forrest Chronicles, Hailey Dickert!

It’s wonderful you could take the time to share with the Pricklers a bit about you and your writing.

First, where are you from? How long have you been writing? What book is this for you? First? Second? Or too many it’s hard to remember?

I’m from Fort Pierce, Florida but I currently live near Frankfurt, Germany. I have been writing my entire life. Previously I wrote songs and even had a blog at one point but The Sister Between Us is my very first novel.

What type of romance do you write? What romances do you love to read? Do you have a favorite romance author that inspires you?

I write contemporary sports romance. I also love to read any contemporary romance but I have a soft spot for hockey romance even though I know nothing about the sport. My favorite author is C.W. Farnsworth who inspires me through her work ethic and beautiful stories.

In brief, tell us about your book, The Sister Between Us.

The Sister Between Us is a childhood friends to lovers story about Leah (FMC) falling in love with her best friend’s brother, Jake (MMC). We get to see their journey through being friends, admitting their feelings, being in love, and how they will over come tragedy. Will they find their way back to one another even as everything is falling apart?

When you received your first copy of your newly published book, The Sister Between Us how did you feel? Did you flood social media with a book selfie? Celebrate with Champagne? Chocolate? Or pass out?

The first time I received a proof copy of my book I danced around the room like a crazy person—then I started marketing it up in red.

When you’re stuck with a scene, how do you resolve the trouble? Take a shower? Call your writing pals? Reenact the scene with your significant other?

It depends on the scene. If it’s a spicy one, I drink a glass of wine. If it’s a normal one I usually chat about it with a close friend of mine and we always come up with a solution.

Besides your computer, what can be found on your writing desk? Pictures of a hunky guy? Gorgeous woman? Coffee? Popcorn? Craft books? Empty wine glass? Chocolate? The latest issue of Vogue? The Writer’s Magazine? Or maybe a fluffy fur ball? In other words, what helps you write?

I always have a candle lit, something to drink, and music playing in the background.

What type of character populates the majority of your pages? What’s your favorite trope to read and write? After you’ve written your novel, ever get stunned by the fact that you wrote it?

My favorite trope to read and write would be he falls first and harder. I often flip through my copy of The Sister Between Us and can’t believe that I’ve written and will publish it.

If you write the hotter romances, when’s the best time for you to write those scenes? Does the writing come natural or do you make yourself blush? Have your parents stopped answering your calls? Buy you a gold-plated keyboard? Or have they signed you up for sex counseling classes?

I like to write the hotter scenes when I’m alone and drinking a glass of wine. This way I don’t feel like anyone is around judging me and also so that I can really get into the mindset of the scene without distractions. In the beginning I used to blush writing the spicy scenes but now they are coming easier and more naturally. My Dad will (hopefully) never read those parts and my Mom wasn’t weird about it at all!

So, say you want to do a box set with two other romance authors, who would you choose? What romance trope would you write?

I would probably chose Hannah Grace and CW Farnsworth because they both write excellent sports romance. Regarding the trope? I have no idea besides that it would be sports romance.

If you had the opportunity to promote one of your books from your backlist, which would you choose? Why?

I don’t have a back list, but I do have my second novel ‘Return Policy’ coming out June 23! It is the first in my university series ‘Crystal Bay University’ and the female main character is a side character from The Sister Between Us.

If someone were to make a movie based on your book, which actors would play the leading roles?

Leah would be played by Abigail Cowen and Jake would be played by Danny Griffin. (Which is funny because they are currently dating in real life!)

Do you have any blog tours, signings, or other upcoming events that you would like to promote?

I will be doing a book signing on May 11 at 6pm at Sweet Haven Books in Miami, FL.

Finally, we know you’re a romantic, right? So what is the most romantic thing you’ve ever had your MCs do to win the love of their life?

Without giving away any spoilers, even during time apart, Jake was always supportive of Leah’s dreams and she see’s just how much once they reunite.

  • Prickle Forrest Chronicles – special edition –author interview with Sherri Lupton Hollister

    PRICKLE FORREST CHRONICLES

    SPECIAL Edition

Welcome to the Prickle Forrest Chronicles, Sherri Lupton Hollister.

It’s wonderful you could take the time to share with the Pricklers a bit about you and your writing.

First, where are you from? How long have you been writing? What book is this for you? First? Second? Or too many it’s hard to remember?

Hi Chrissy, thank you for having me. I live in eastern North Carolina and call it home. I’ve lived here most of life but was born in Louisiana. I have lived from Virginia down and around and out to New Mexico, but eastern NC is where my ancestors have called home for the past few hundred yearsand has always been home to me.

I started writing at age ten when I penned my first romance called “True Love” in red ink. I come from a long line of storytellers and BSers so I think telling stories came naturally for me. Writing was my way of entertaining myself and was never meant to be shared. My librarian friend convinced me to let her read some of my stories. She pushed me to submit my work to a couple of contests and together we attended my first couple of conventions.

I am currently working on three books each in different genres. I have published twelve novels, Trent’s Melody is number eleven, it was followed by my first historical cozy mystery The Americans are Coming. Both were published in 2022.

What type of romance do you write? What romances do you love to read? Do you have a favorite romance author that inspires you?

I write mostly contemporary romantic suspense but one of my works in progress is a sporty romantic comedy. I love to read and write stories with action and adventure, but with a deep romantic connection. My first love is historical romance and I’ve recently released my first historical cozy mystery. If the characters are quirky and strong, maybe with a bit of attitude, then no matter the genre, I’m probably going to love the book.

Amanda Quick/Jayne Ann Krentz/Jayne Castle is one author who inspires me. She writes in three romantic genres and does it well. She failed under one name and reinvented herself twice, then found success under all three pennames. Meeting her is on my bucket list. Her characters are flawed and often failures in their family’s eyes (or by societies’ standards), but when they meet their one person, they find that their unique quirks are what make them perfect for each other. Together they find success/happiness. I aspire to write characters like JAK.

In brief, tell us about your book, Trent’s Melody.

Trent’s Melody combines my love of reality competition shows like The Voice and Rock the Block. It is the fourth full-length novel in The Harrell Family Chronicles series, but it is capable of standing alone.

Trent and his bandmates are one of the last bands standing on Winning Nashville when he walks away from everythinghe’s dreamed of all because of a girl. Not just any girl, the girl he’d loved since elementary school. The girl his best friend and bandmate, Kyle just proposed to.

Surprised to find Melodie on the plane to Cancun, Trent sings his way into her heart. When Kyle is found dead and they are blamed for his suicide, Trent leaves Melodie at the mercy of the media.

Years later, they are both hiding from the world, Melodie Henries writing under a penname and refusing interviews, and Trent Harrell in a bottle. When they are asked to join their siblings in a renovation competition pitting an all-male crew against an all-female construction team, they each have their own reasons for agreeing.

Alone, the couple find they are still attracted to each other but they’re afraid to take a chance. When a stalker ramps up threats against them, Trent and Melodie must discover who is threatening their last chance at happiness before it’s too late.

When you received your first copy of your newly published book, Trent’s Melody how did you feel? Did you flood social media with a book selfie? Celebrate with Champagne? Chocolate? Or pass out?

Trent’s Melody was a book I’d started several years ago but the timing wasn’t right. I recycled it and did a bit of reconstruction on it and brought it out with a song writing contest and a naming contest for the reality show. Getting friends and fans involved made it a lot of fun. The book came out with a bit of fanfare, but then I jumped into finishing my historical cozy. No rest for the wicked.

When you’re stuck with a scene, how do you resolve the trouble? Take a shower? Call your writing pals? Reenact the scene with your significant other?

When I’m stuck on a scene, I will do several things to get the creative juices flowing. One trick is the “what if” game. I ask what if this happens and then what… if no ideas come to me then I move forward to another scene or walk away and do something different like cleaning, dancing, or going for a walk. I also find that reading a book or having a discussion with friends will often get me going.

Besides your computer, what can be found on your writing desk? Pictures of a hunky guy? Gorgeous woman? Coffee? Popcorn? Craft books? Empty wine glass? Chocolate? The latest issue of Vogue? The Writer’s Magazine? Or maybe a fluffy fur ball? In other words, what helps you write?

I’m not necessarily a sit at the desk writer, at least not since my desktop failed and I’ve become a laptop writer. Now my desk is my lap in my recliner after work or my desk in the back room at work amid an adding machine and other office supplies and a collection of junk. Usually, I have a glass or bottle of water or cup of coffee beside me, and some sort of snack. If I’m being good, it’s fruit or nuts, if not, it’s cookies. At home I also have a forty-pound Blue Pitt lap dog named Hazel and sometimes even my husband unless he gets to talking too much, then I banish him to the bedroom and his own computer.

What type of character populates the majority of your pages? What’s your favorite trope to read and write? After you’ve written your novel, ever get stunned by the fact that you wrote it?

I like to read and write flawed characters who could be your best friend or neighbor. The average guy doing extraordinary things or put into tough situations and have tofind practical solutions to survive or save the day.

My favorite tropes vary with my mood. I love friends to lovers, fake boyfriend/girlfriend, one bed, and secret baby. But any trope can be cliché and overdone, or fresh and new depending on the author. I like any story that takes me out of my day and lets me live for a few pages in another place. Like a mini vacation without leaving my recliner.

Completing a book is like giving birth, you look at that sweet little thing and think “I made this.” It’s a moment of pride and awe, then you have to send it out into the world, and you worry that it won’t be as beloved by others. After raising six boys, I shouldn’t worry about sending my books out into the world but sometimes, it’s hard not to fear how they will be perceived by others.

If you write the hotter romances, when’s the best time for you to write those scenes? Does the writing come natural or do you make yourself blush? Have your parents stopped answering your calls? Buy you a gold-plated keyboard? Or have they signed you up for sex counseling classes?

I write medium heat sex scenes mostly. Nothing too kinky, so far, but I had a few uncomfortable scenes in my sex trafficking series. My mom is one of my Beta readers, she was happy when I wrote something not quiet so graphic and coarse. She doesn’t like the bad language and says she doesn’t have a boyfriend to help after reading the sex scenes. Writing sex scenes doesn’t bother me, I have a lot of fun doing it and it really doesn’t matter when or where I write it, but reading it out loud during a critique or something, that’s when I blush. So far I’ve not been threatened with sex counseling but I have been challenged on a couple of my acts and I had to shoot them down with proof that it was possible.

So, say you want to do a box set with two other romance authors, who would you choose? What romance trope would you write?

As a member of RWA and my local chapter, Heart of Carolina, I have several good friends whom I’d adore writing a box set with. Reese Ryan, the former president of HCRW has the Bourbon Brother series which I fan-girl over. I believe, she and I along with Donna Steele, another member of HCRW who writes contemporary romance as well as sci-fi romance, would have a fantastic time writing a reunion-vacation trope. Three girlfriends rent a house for the summer, reuniting after years apart, former college roommates…make them about 40, this could be a grown folks romance. Oh Lord, now you’ve got me thinking about a new story idea.

If you had the opportunity to promote one of your books from your backlist, which would you choose? Why?

I would promote Chrome Pink, my first book. It is the book that started it all. My first series, The Leeward Files begins with Rae Lynne, a rape survivor who returns home to help her grandfather battle cancer. After his death, she risks losing her home to the man who made her life hell. After rescuing a stranger, Rae finds herself falling in love but when she is accused of killing her dates, she doesn’t know where to turn. Rae has to learn to trust herself and her friends in order to prove her innocence and stop a murderer. Will they be in time?

Trent’s Melody is part of The Harrell Family Chronicles which is a spinoff of The Leeward Files.

Do you have any blog tours, signings, or other upcoming events that you would like to promote?

If you would like to join me, I will be speaking at the Carteret Writers Conference in Newport, NC Saturday, April 15th. https://carteretwriters.org/carteret-writers-quadrennial-conference/

I will be one of several North Carolina authors at the New Bern Farmers Market Book Fair, Sunday, April 30th.http://newbernfarmersmarket.org/

Next Chapter Books and Art of New Bern will host me for a class on Writing Faster by Layering, Saturday, June 17th. https://thenextchapternc.com/

Finally, we know you’re a romantic, right? So, what is the most romantic thing you’ve ever had your MCs do to win the love of their life?

In Titanium Blue, Tar quits the Marines and becomes a deputy for the town of Leeward for a second chance with Jenna and their son Toby.

    PRICKLE FORREST CHRONICLES

    Chrissy Hartmann

March 2023 – Got time for a quickie?

    Dear Pricklers,

Yes, it’s a quickie. The Muses are tired and the pantry is locked. No more Oreo’s for the day. Off to bed once we finish this post.

    Okay, so first…

Orrville Public Library is hosting their 2nd Annual Author Book Signing this weekend, Saturday, March 11th from 11 am to 3 pm. And yes, I’ll be there. Don’t count on the Musedes, they’ll be bowling. Apparently, their spring league starts that day. Hmm? How convenient, right?

But they might make an appearance on Saturday, March 18th for the Massillon Public Library Book Signing. I’m excited for both, but Massillon is my first time there. Woohoo!!!

Nevertheless, I’ll have both novels at each location, Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation and Cherishing Whiskey’s Salvation.

We’ll be doing a special price deal on both novelss for a bundle package. And if you can’t make it, it send me an E-mail from my website mentioning the special and you can order the set via E-mail or hopefully off my Extras page on the website.

But, in all honesty, I hope you’ll come… I love you guys!

    Second…

The Muses are getting restless and want me to make sure you can order any of our fun merch plus autographed books from the extras page https://chrissyhartmann.com/extras

There will be a limited supply Saturday. And don’t worry, I’ll have QR codes to pass out for links to the E-books if you’d rather have that version. We can also send you away with an autographed book cover postcard if you really want one. In fact, I’d be happy to put my signature on one.

    Finally, the best for last…

The Prickle Forrest Chronicles will be featuring two more romance authors this month. First one, Tuesday, March 14th with Cassie Mae cook and the second on Tuesday, March 28th with Sherri hollister.

    Woohoo!

Okay, I’ve been informed it’s time to hit the pillow. Sheesh, definitely a quickie here. But don’t forget about the Author interviews on the 14th and 28th. Will chat soon…

So for now, Good night Pricklers.. and don’t forget to stay prickley!

    Chrissy Hartmann

P.S. We’ll send another update at the end of the month with pictures of the book signings. Hope to see you there!

    PRICKLE FORREST CHRONICLES

    July 2020 (Posted 07/29/2020

    By Chrissy Hartmann

No Fourth of July celebration. No community celebration of Independence Day. The city not festive at all. The town sits stagnate in the presence of this pandemic. But is it truly a pandemic? Or is it the figment of fear?

The hot humid days of summer have arrived. Unfortunately, with this pandemic it makes it difficult to cool down. No fun filled days going to the local pool unless of course you call ahead for a reservation for a quick dip. Needless to say, the air conditioner is getting a workout and will be happy to see the fall come sooner rather than later.

The flowers look beautiful and the grass is quite green, but unless it doesn’t rain soon the possibility of gazing out onto a brown patchy yard is inevitable.

Hope runs abundant for the autumn that this turmoil will exit our beautiful lands and the days of peace return. God bless America!

    THE TOP FIVE

    1. Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation finished and sent to publisher.
    2. Hand-dipped ice cream.
    3. Baseball is back! Go Tribe!
    4. Lemonade.
    5. That Blind Tech Show.

    WIP IT… WIP IT GOOD…

Working on book 2 to the Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation series. As of right now, only going to write it as a 2-book series. Reworked the outline so it better fits the romance beats that Gwen Hayes teaches. Much stronger storyline and character arcs. About six chapters written with a few edits. Loving it!

    QUERYING…

Made the changes EP suggested and sent it back to them as of July 13th. Hoping to hear back from them within 60 days with some positive news and maybe an offer. Had lots of help from the Wayne Novelist Guild, RedPen, two literary agents, and a number of others are on the page of acknowledgments of the book.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

    THE CRAFT

    This month’s writing tip…

If you are writing a romance, please read Romancing the Beat, Story Structure for Romance Novels. How to write kissing book 1 by Gwen Hayes. It’s a short book — very short, but does a fantastic job of explaining how romance beats are different from other genres. It’s a tremendous help for creating your outline.

    THE HOLIDAYS:

Fourth of July or Independence Day arrived and unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 status our stupid state government officials made it very hard to celebrate the holiday. Surreal! And with all the riots, the thought of what country this actually is crossed the brain waves a number of times. Going to a cookout at the end of the month down in the hollar. Should be fun with lots of good food. Hopefully, no one will put the 4-wheeler into the pond this time. Oops! But it will be fabulous to hang out with everyone.

    MY BOOKSHELF:

    DID YOU KNOW…

Dexcom G6 is a fabulous continuous glucose monitor. No more finger pricks. This is almost like having the pancreas working on its own again. Provides much freedom. One quick look at their app to monitor the blood sugars and one is good to go. And if you want to dress your CGM up why not try an overlay patch from Expression Med? Lots of great designs. Puppy paws, black cats, flowers, flags, shamrocks, etc. Check them out with the link below and get $5 off your firsts order. Hopefully you’ll love them as much as I do.

    THEY SAID…

“The most valuable of all talents is that of never using two words when one will do. ”

    – Thomas Jefferson

    HOMETOWN UPDATE:

    • Unfortunately, due to this rotten Rona Walmart, Kohl’s, CVS, etc. are now requiring masks to enter their stores.
    • The Wayne Novelist Guild is using Facebook meet to hold their bimonthly meetings until the Wayne County Public Library can open back up to the public.
    • Wooster downtown Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), which establishes boundaries for patrons to walk around with open containers of alcoholic beverages during specified times or events is now allowed.

    INQUISITIVE MINDS…

    The Muses want to know…

Should everyone wear a mask or should just those vulnerable be the ones to wear them?

    GOOSING OFF…

    Goosie & Gander

The geese are trying to do their best to lighten the mood, and celebrate each day with merriment with bright colors, patriotic themes, and traditions of summer. They started the month out rocking the patriotic colors of red, white, and blue. Then they wanted to remind everyone not to forget about their pink friends, the flamingos and another , a delicious, favorite, the plump strawberry season. And let’s not forget the blooms of the summer. Last but not least, they are thrilled to head to the pool with the sunny days. Enjoy!

  • One Stop For Writers: An Online Library Unlike Any Other

Every once in a while, something comes along that changes things for the better.

And in the world of writers, this is especially welcoming, because we all know just how much sweat, courage and persistence it takes to write a book and then release it into the world.

Today I’m pointing you toward a new website which I hope will help writers brainstorm stronger characters, craft deeper, more compelling plots, and teach us how to be more effective with our description so we draw readers in.

One Stop For Writers is a collaboration between Becca Puglisi and Angela Ackerman, authors of The Emotion Thesaurus, and Lee Powell, creator of Scrivener for Windows. This powerhouse online library is filled with one-of-a-kind descriptive thesaurus collections, tools, tutorials and much more, all geared to provide the resources you need to strengthen your prose and write more efficiently.

Want to check One Stop For Writers out?

Hop on over to Writers Helping Writers for their Launch Week festivities (October 7-14th)! If you know Angela, Lee and Becca already, you probably can guess there will be some great prizes, and probably a bit of paying-it-forward too.
